Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines.
This search engine optimization (SEO) is "natural," un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") sunstone search engine results. Search engine optimization (SEO) has many factors, here are a few that I perform when optimizing a web site:
- Creating a semantically correct, search engine friendly web site or updating an existing web site code to current standards.
- Finding key words for the web site's potential visitors / customers.
- Researching how competitive the key words are and creating strategies to take over more desirable key words.
- Working relevant key word content into the web site.
There are many more factors involved when thoroughly positioning for key word domination resulting in search engine manipulation or other wise called search engine optimization (SEO). These techniques I have learned through years of study, research and experimentation.
Each search engine is different and favors different things. For instance, the Google search engine may like a certain item of search engine optimization (SEO) where Yahoo! may drop in search engine result position. Part of the art of search engine optimization (SEO) is knowing which search engine prefers what and finding "happy mediums" weighing in favor of the most highly used search engines first.
If you're thinking about hiring a search engine optimization (SEO) professional, the earlier the better. A great time to hire is when you're considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, you and your search engine optimization (SEO) professional can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up. However, a good search engine optimization (SEO) professional can also help improve an existing site.
Some useful questions to ask a search engine optimization (SEO) professional include:
- Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?
- Do you follow the Google Webmaster Guidelines?
- Do you offer any online marketing services or advice to complement your organic search business?
- What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?
- What's your experience in my industry?
- What's your experience in my country/city?
- What's your experience developing international sites?
- What are your most important search engine optimization (SEO) techniques?
- How long have you been in business?
- How can I expect to communicate with you? Will you share with me all the changes you make to my site, and provide detailed information about your recommendations and the reasoning behind them?
